You can lend a Kindle book to another reader for up to 14 days. The borrower does not need to own a Kindle device, they can read the book on the free Kindle app for iOS, Android, Mac, or PC.

How to Lend a Kindle Book
If you own a Kindle device or app, you can loan your Kindle books to other Kindle users for up to 14 days. Once a book has been loaned, it cannot be read by the loaning account until the loan period expires. To lend a book:
Locate the book you’d like to loan on your Kindle and select Loan this title from the menu.
Enter the name and email address of the person you’re lending to.
Select Loan this title.
The recipient will receive an email notification with instructions on how to claim their lent book.
How to Borrow a Kindle Book
If you have a Kindle device or the Kindle app, you can borrow Kindle books from your public library and read them just like any other Kindle book. To borrow a Kindle book from your library:
1. Make sure your Kindle device is connected to the Internet.
2. Go to your local public library’s website and search for “Amazon Kindle.”

How to Gift a Kindle Book

How to Manage Your Kindle Lending Library
If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you have the opportunity to borrow Kindle books from the Kindle Lending Library. This feature gives you access to a wide variety of titles that you can borrow and read on your Kindle device. Here’s how to manage your Kindle Lending Library:
To borrow a book from the Kindle Lending Library, first make sure that you’re logged in to your Amazon Prime account. Then, go to the Amazon website and navigate to the Kindle Store. In the store, find the book that you want to borrow and click “Borrow for Free.” The book will then be added to your lending library.
You can keep track of all of the books that you’ve borrowed from the Kindle Lending Library by going to “Manage Your Content and Devices” on your Amazon account page.
